• Born: Hungary, 1163 AD
• Sired: 1202 AD (He was turned during the quest for William and was in Amelia's circle of warriiors when he was caught)
• Enemies: Lycans, other strains of vampires, Marcus
• Skills: Combat, diplomacy, persuasion, strategy, negotiation
• Strengths: Charisma, stealth, speed, agility, strength, healing, immortality, resistance to pain, blood link with Amelia
• Weaknesses: Daylight, blood memories (Amelia's)
• Personality traits: Chivalrous, slightly stubborn and defiant if he knows he is right even in the face of the elders, less conniving then the elders but realizes the need for 'strategic maneuvers', protective, determined, ambitious, driven, respectful, courteous. Byronic. He is based more on 'Dark Prince' then the cheesy Buffy version. Well okay, Dark Prince is cheesy and melodramatic too but less so. There just happen to be more Buffy clips...Eh.

Summary: Matayas was a Royal Guard when Amelia's father ruled over a large swath of land today know as Hungary. Later he became knighted when he protected the castle from tribe of Maygar's. When the King died in battle, the young Amelia--his only heir--was forced to become the heir apparent and rule in his stead until either: (1) she was married off to a male relative (1st cousin) or, (2) an alliance could be formed between her people and who they were fighting, so that she could marry the victor and bring peace to their region. Unfortunately, for the warrior princess, her handmaiden was a spy for other opposing side, who thought it easier to take the land from the princess and ruling it themselves then having the vestiges of the old regime around. Having gained considerable diplomatic tact and survival skills over the years of war, she nonetheless was caught unawares when the handmaiden left the door to her chambers unlocked one night to allow an assasin to come enter and kill her. Matayas discovered that there was no guard standing in front of Amelia's door, even though it was closed, and he rushed in to kill the assassin who was getting the upper hand on the princess. He was a few years older then her and came from a very wealthy family but not royalty. They were drawn to each other and surely, if Amelia ever loved anyone, it was Matayas, but duty and tradition does not allow them to take their 'silly infatuation' (as described by an aunt) past meaningful glances and occasional stolen moments.

Then the real war spilled over into their lands.

Marcus turned Amelia and Viktor. It was a year until the war really took hold and Marcus decided to turn Viktor's soldiers and Amelia's Royal Knights and Guard. Always 'respectfully' defiant, Matayas refused to be turned by Marcus and demanded that Amelia turn him, the rest of her Royal Knights followed suit, thus earning Matayas Marcus' eternal condemnation. Matayas was the first mortal Amelia turned and the only one who has directly fed from her when she saved his life after Marcus had him secretly exiled in revenge for Amelia siding with Viktor and entombing his brother. Marcus thought that it would force Amelia to find out where William lay. She couldn't and Matayas spent two centuries slowly starving to death in an uncomfortable exile. It wasn't until she was awakened by Viktor, who had been awakened by Marcus, that enough blood memories filtered down to her that she was able to start piecing his whereabouts together. When she found him she thought he was dead but fed him her blood which helped revive him (and gave him her memories and vice versa) and she ordered him to 'vanish' so that Marcus would not find him.

Okay, actually, if you can see this first video (on the left, they say that they took it off but sometimes it works. I'll have to nab it somehow) I thought it was really funny if you just watched it thinking that the girl in the video was a younger Amelia. It kinda would go with the back-story I have in my head between Mayatas and Amelia. Of course, I do this only for fun; there is no Matayas character in the movie. It's purely for RP purposes and fan fiction. It also helps, I think, when people can see and hear the pups voice to see what they are being played like...so there. Less music more talk would have been nice cause some of these songs, just no. Bad.
